Outfitter Charged
Just heard there was an outfitter in the Ponoka courthouse on Thursday for a wack of charges relating to migratory game birds. Apparently it's all over Hunting Addicts but I'm not on Facebook.

Over limits, wasting eatable flesh, discharge firearm out of vehicle, closed season, something there about export and import of wildlife.
|
Hard to read the pictured documents, but a long list of charges.
|
Nube, care to get this straight?
I am really hoping this is just some big mistake of some sort. |
Typical Poacher. BTW, your welcome for the help I hooked you up with to get your stuff out of Advantage Taxidermy. Not that you ever took the time to thank anyone.
|
I heard that he was thinking of running for the presidency of A P O S and this is part of the prerequisite to do so. :sHa_shakeshout:

There are charges and that's it. Innocent until proven guilty. Why would he discuss the details of this issue with people on a forum before it is settled?
|
Can Schuett and Condie please come toot their honest outfitter horns now?

Would be interesting to know the story and circumstances
I can’t see the real benefit of shooting birds from your truck? |
This is the guy that takes pics of all these big whitetails over bait and then claims all the big whitetails that he shoots are all legit. I wonder how many of his Rams were shot legally or were they shot in cadomin or Jasper park
|
Saw the crapshow on fb. Wish the guy took better photos and didn't use a potato cam. These eyes can't make it out!

People dont typically have that many charges and end up innocent. Guess time will tell. I am curious for all the stuff that makes the news there are enough charges here that makes you wonder how it flew under the radar. |

Other provinces that have had severe hunting violations resulting in charges sticking involving wastage and deliberate disregard have other pursuits suspended as well like trapping.
As is tied to outdoors/win card. I believe was tied to wolves as were tied to small game licences at the time. Not sure what the norm is in cases here in Alberta. |

Can’t see anybody hunting out of season for birds ? Or shooting from a vehicle? This one doesn’t make much sense |

They wouldn’t lay close to 70 charges for no reason I’m thinking.
|
need a nosey person to check in with the courts to get the full run down. LOL

Most of the charges here seem a little different then what you’re suggesting |
Pack of wolves here... all based on a blurry pic from facebook.
Until I get the story I am waiting to pass judgment. Just remember that the bigger you are or more successful the more other outfitters and jealous people will try to pin something on you. It is also not unheard of for outfitters to make false accusations agains someone who is guiding in "their area". With that being said, I would like to see stiffer penalties to outfitters who are know to poach. It gives them an unfair advantage for the guys who go by the rules and some seem to look at the monetary fines as just part of 'doing business'. I think life time hunting bans should be handed out to repeat offenders. |
