Hook and Hackle Club – Calgary Open House on February 26, 2020

The Hook and Hackle Club – Calgary is a non-profit organization that has been active in Calgary since 1954. It is the largest and the oldest fly-fishing club in Calgary. The club’s mission is to attract and benefit a membership of individuals interested in fly-fishing, fly tying and related activities. Our vision is to provide opportunities for our members to share experiences, knowledge and expertise through organized programs, informal activities and general discussion. The club encourages catch and release, good sport fishing ethics, stream etiquette and the preservation of the fishery for future generations. Our activities include work with organizations such as Trout Unlimited and Alberta Sustainable Resource and Development in joint efforts to help make our waterways and trout habitat sustainable for the future.

The benefits of joining the Hook and Hackle Club – Calgary include: access to our library containing one of the finest selections of fly fishing and fly tying books in Western Canada including videos and DVD’s; Beginner Fly Tying Classes; Fly Bank where members tie and then donate flies to various fund raisers and organizations such as ‘Casting for Life’, Boy Scouts and ‘Trout Unlimited; Fly Tying Demonstrations; Guest Speakers; Spring Casting Clinic; Club organized fishing outings and our Annual Auction fundraiser.

Come and enjoy an evening with the Hook & Hackle Club - Calgary. See Exhibits such as fly tying, fishing entomology, fly fishing equipment, beginner fly tying instruction, pike flies and others. Chat with our members - Fly Fisher-people just like you! Visit the Club's extensive library of books and DVDs.
