Helo me find Arrow rest on inside instead of outside?
Hi,
I'm new to having a recurve. I am wondering why the arrow rest is on the "outside" of the bow, instead of being on the "inside" where it would seem to be more intuitive and would allow a straighter line-up of the arrow, as well as being faster to notch the arrow? IOW, for me, using a left-hand bow, bow is held on the right hand, the arrow rest is on the outside to the right. Why? I assume there is some good reason for it to be this way, but I'm not seeing it, and it just feels wrong. Thanks! |

If you are using a Medeteranian style of draw on the arrow , the string gets twisted into the bow direction as it is being drawn .
If you are drawing with the right hand on a right window ( left hand) bow the arrow flight will nit be correct as the arrow needs to have pressure on the bow to leave it correctly (see Medaternian draw) If you are using my a pinch style draw it does not matter . Cat |
post a pic of your bow
from what you are saying you have a proper left handed bow... You should be able to cant the bow with your right thumb at 11 or 10 o'clock. It will seem as though you are shooting over the back of your hand. Check out moebow on youtube.
it should help you figure out what you're after. Question: which eye is your dominant eye? |
