Interesting article with some interesting thoughts from a couple of pollsters.

Interesting article ... but one of many that have been written on this subject, since the last Federal election. Have the Conservatives started a new right-wing dynasty? My guess is; 'Maybe'. They have screwed things up before and lost elections ... as time goes on, there will be lots of opportunities for them to screw things up again. Time will tell.
From the article; " ... Waves of immigration, much of it from Asia, have brought conservative values ... ". That's actually a true statement! The average immigrant today, is by nature, a small 'c' conservative. This was reflected in the last Federal election, and helped the Conservatives win a majority. I'm guessing there's lots of folks here on the AOF, who are unaware of this. TF |
I agree with Trigger; I've often laughed at the hypocritical prejudice displayed by the political left in their portrayal of conservatives as racists or religious zealots, when Canada under Conservative leadership has been bringing in large numbers of immigrants from all manner of backgrounds. Though it certainly doesn't hurt if they're from nations with strong conservative majority governments ;)

Some days, it's downright embarrassing, being a right-winger here on this forum. TF |
