Late season cow elk help in 521/Valleyview

I'm hoping to put a cow elk in the freezer in January for the first time. I already have a couple of areas in mind but I thought I would throw it out here and see if anyone knows of any farmers in the area with recurring elk issues during the winter and would welcome someone to lessen the herd by one cow? I am very respectful and hunt only on foot and I'm not looking for anyone's secret honey hole either...just want to try and expose my family to elk meat.

Thanks in advance.

Honestly go to any landowner and they will let you on.. look around Valleyview riverside golf coarse.. I don't personally hunt around there but every time I deal with a landowner they tell me of the large amount of elk herds on that river

I have this draw as well and am interested in finding an area. I'm brand new to Alberta this summer and haven't figured out much for areas yet, although I have hunted elk successfully many times in BC before moving here. Most of my time will be limited to weekend hunts, but Chief, if you are ever looking for someone to go when the time comes, feel free to let me know.

Thanks everyone for the help, lots of good info here and in PM's.

bc gbear, as the time gets closer I will have a clearer idea of when I can get out and will stay in touch.

Lots of trespassing issues this year due to the hudderites letting it turn into a free for all out there last year.I wouldn't bother asking any one else.RB
