Bullseye camera systems
Anybody use a Bullseye camera system here?
I bought one the other day at P&D , and am super impressed with it!:sHa_shakeshout: This thing consists of a camera in a plastic ammo box, and a receiver in a soft case . The box goes out to the target and the receiver sits at your firing station . After a few false starts ( I am totally inept when it comes to IT stuff) And some help from the young fella at the counter , I got it set up in the kitchen for a test run, and got it to the range today . Lots of snow so I only took it to 200 yards but was excited to see that I could log my shots and also see live video if I wanted to. Everything was going great until I lost the power in my phone!:angry3: The batteries in the camera and receiver were still working though . I had the camera about 30 feet from the two gongs and off at an angle . The two gongs are about 8’ apart I think ( one is 12” and the other 24”)and I had them both on the camera so the field of view is good . This camera s sports toy good fir one mile . This will work perfectly for long range shooting for days when the mirage and ambient light is messing with my spotting scope picture ! Cat |
I've been thinking of buying one of those systems for some time now. TargetVision is another brand. They have one that is good for 2 miles and another that transmits a HD signal out to 1200 yards. Perfect if you like shooting at paper targets.
What range does your Bullseye system have? |

Ya these are really cool, been doing some research on them for a while and I am getting really close to getting one.
Can you please repost once you have had a chance to shoot further range? Curious to see if they work as well as they claim out to a mile. Thanks |

It will video as well as show the particular shots .:) Cat |
I have a phantom drone that I bet would work good for that, just probably not too good in cold weather.

Well, I spent the afternoo out at the range and found out that bright sunlight with no clouds and snow really hamper the camera!:thinking-006:
The picture was washed out after the run got up, before that however it worked great! Something to be aware of I guess...... Cat |
How far to the side and how far in front are you putting the camera Cat?

I could see the targets but they were very washed out At 100 I was much closer and could see better Cat |
Right on Cat,,, I'd like to try one this year. Hoping I get invited to come up your way to check it out. LOL.
I went back to the old school shooting targets this winter,,, lots of folks forgot about the old shooting system before the high tech stuff come out. Here's a post I added to another thread this year to good times on a frugal budget,,, not the best long range target system,,, not the worst. Of course each shooter gets to pick and choose what works for them. I've been using black garbage bags in winter,,, white in summer for LR shooting. Fill with air and watch it deflate when it gets tagged. I set them at close range distances at 800 to 1700 meters for practic since they are close to Deer size body girth... Frugal to shoot and a person can flatten out lots of them in the day,,, most are reusable so long as a person brings the ductape. LOL. Place them in many configurations like stacking,,, spread-out or single format at each shooters choosing. Normally I use the medium size garbage bags since I get 100 of them for $3.65 a box. Deflation is a good thing you know. Ha Good luck on the target acquisition all,,, good times happen to those that go after it. PS: On Windy days I tie the bags to buck brush or 1 scope of dirt to hold them in place,,, sometime we get lucky shooting moving targets when the winds pick up. Ha... That's a challange fore sure. 👍 |
Come on up any time Don!

Yo Yo Yo 👍
I'm sure I'll take you up on this sometime through the year Cat,,, I'll pm you loooooong before I go on my Alberta Land tour across the Province. I'd like to cover the territory once again to remind me of the awesome Province we live in. Live in truck system with Quad, kayak, food and plinking toys. Ha,,, I'll let you shoot my 28 lb Trad bow if you'ld like. Ha. Soft limbs for sharp minds,,, my middle age pal told me this. |
