Boating Regulations ??
Hi folks,
I am wondering if any forum member may know if a publication exists, consisting of all our Alberta lakes, and any specific boating restrictions on each particular body of water. i.e. no motor, elec only, .... etc. I have not had any success in finding one. Thanks ......... And good fishing to all !! Rob. |
I am wondering the same. I am looking at getting a jet boat. There is a boat launch at indian battle park in lethbridge, but not sure if u can use a powered boat within city limits. Also if u can use one on the lower castle/oldman rivers if a guy accesses them from the oldman resovoir. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Barry Micheals, Alberta Fishing Guide I think thats what the magazine is called. It has all the lake & river listings for AB. Although I have found some info. on some of the listings to be out dated or even wrong. Still a good mag.

Calgary is the only city you cant run a powerboat in city limits. We are planing a trip up the Oldman this spring during high water I think you should be able to get to the gap that time of the year.

I am pretty sure that guys launch their small jet boats at the indian battle park boat launch all the time. That is what I plan on doing if I can ever afford to get a small jet boat. There is lots of water to explore down the oldman.

I don't think that you can run a power boat on the Bow River within Town of Canmore limits either - and definitely not anywhere in Banff Park - except Lake Minnewanka.

Boating Regulations
I have launched my 12 foot tin boat with a 8 hp Tohatsu in Exshaw and gone up river towards Canmore a few times. Spent a 2 to 3 hrs going up river at a slow trolling speed casting trolling etc stopping & fishing off the bank. It is a nice trip and can be real quick on the way back.
There is a spot in Exshaw accross from Lac Des Arcs where one can launch & park. Gillfisher |

I hear you there. I know of a few spots I would like to get into to see if they hold the trout. I will probably end up shore fishing if I can still get my truck near them.

Thanks mustang, an awesome list !
