Bow below bearspaw dam

Has anyone fished the bow below bearspaw dam in the last few days? I plan to go there this afternoon.
Any input would be helpful.

Thanks,

Good luck with the whites.

i was there 2 twice in the past week... noticed some big pike very close to shore in that big pool before the dam. defiantly life there but i never caught anything other then fishing lines :( went at sunrise and mid day....

we caught a small trout and a large sucker on the whitefish rig I've been using.

Oh, and a rapala reel spool with 20 feet of line....weird.

TONS of people on that section below the dam today. And guys fishing right up to the dam. fishermen everywhere. didnt see anyone having much luck tho.

I fished Saturday, a ways downstream from the dam. I was across from the Valley Ridge golf course. I caught 1 nice white fish on magots. Fished for about 6 hours. Good day of baking in the sun. The fish was a bonus.

end of the furthest upstream parking lot, across from the water outlet, cast as far out as you can and bottom bounce, lots of big whites right there

If you can still access this stretch, mind you it's not exactly below bearspaw, it used to be fantastic just before freeze up or really frosty mornings, haven't been since I was a kid. tiny spinners,, great for rockies and rainbows.

Almost everyone ive helped learn how to indicator fish, ive taken to the pump house below Bearspaw. Just take the Alazar Temple road and continue down the dirt road between the tracks and the river. The golf course pump house is directly across from this pumphouse too.

The run is full of fish and a great place to teach newby chuck and duck fisherpeople.

Be warned there is alot of toothless wonders
