I've been there a few times this year, the ice is plenty thick. I didn't have a tape measure last time but the thickness was about the same as the length of my ice scoop (~12").
I've been skunked in the SE but had some success near the middle on the east side, there is a public lot there. Bring ice cleats. |
Hi Jay!
I'm glad you finally joined, there's tonnes of good information here. So, yeah, adding to this topic, I have had good success in the SE corner during the open water season but have never ice fished. Jay has a hut that we wanted to put on the ice but the access there isn't very good. How do you put a tent up in the SE aside from driving from the launch all the way down? (which I wouldn't do unless it got colder) Mark |
I see lots of guys
I see lots of guys on the north side of the lake, a couple of hundred yards south of the bridge.
No idea how much luck they have but there are too many guys that fish there for everyone to be getting skunked. |
Just south of the bridge my son and i caught eight in abiut an hour and a half. Nothing more than 16" but lots of them. I know there are some big boys down there but the lil suckers slam the minnows to quick. Good luck i am sure you wont be getting skunked.
