Trapping Supplies

Got my new mag from Gordy Klassen, was comparing prices to Halfords.
Seems Halfords is cheaper if you figure in the "free" shipping. Any other places to check pricing, other than online from the US? Will be dropping a chunk of $$ so it pays to shop around. Have any more traps been added to the list of legal traps for certain species for 2012-2013?

All ready having visions of Marten hanging in those new Belisle traps......

Halfords is way cheaper. Got stuck in a bind last year and had to grab a bunch of stuff from Debolt. Cost about 25% more overall. But hey, try and support the little guys eh :)

most of the certified traps are not yet mandatory, but i guess it would be pro-active to buy already certified traps so when they do implement, you dont have to replace a ton of gear. here is the list, the 1st table looks to be the only ones that are mandetory as of right now

:confused0024:I was hoping there would be more companies getting their traps certified so we have a bigger selection. Some of the traps that are listed are legal but still not really the best trap for a certain species.
For example, the foot hold for Wolf is listed as Victor #3 soft catch, any wolf trapper knows this is far from the optimal trap for wolves. Much rather have the MB 750 certified, or the #9 Alaskan.

With the Lynx, We are required to used one of three Victor #3 foothold, or the foot snare. There are alot of foot holds out there that will work as well or better, but have not been tested so it's a no go. Or go to conibear bodygrip and for now use what ever you please....
