Travers/mcgregor report

Hello everyone,

Was planning to head out to Travers to try for some burbot tomorrow in the evening. Does anyone know how the ice conditions are? Is it safe to walk on? My plan was to try little bow campground. If not, maybe Macgregor.

Safest bet is to walk out and drill a few holes to check. Ice will still be safe to walk on. Haven't been out since January but there's been some warm weather going on. Safe travels!!

Was at Travers today. I didnt drive on although the ice was at least 13 inches thick-popping and cracking alot. Pretty BS day though as I forgot my jacket and was very windy and chilly. Didnt even have a bite either in front of boat launch.

2015-03-01: Tried 3 spots on McGregor today and landed one small pike all day. Couldn't find a bite from the perch or whitefish. Ice thickness varied from 8 to 14" thick in the south to over 2 feet in the north by Milo. Lots of ice cracking and some ice berms up north.
