New to archery
Olla
Im looking at getting into a recurve this upcoming year, and will start the shopping process. Any recommendations on a bow? and What to look to get and what to look to avoid? |
Fist bow, get a used recurve. Shouldn’t be more than $150 and 1/2 dozen arrows will be 50/70 bucks. Shoot the hell out of it. If you’re still having fun then look at the very best bow you can afford and it’ll last you decades. You’ll eventually need a fletching jig to fix your own arrows.

A hunting bow?
Don't over-bow yourself. Legal hunting weight is 40# at 28". Just sayin' that many people buy a bow and struggle with bringing it to full draw on a cold day and a stiff ole body. Get something you can draw and comfortably hold without shaking.

It is not for hunting, at least its not its intent. Maybe in the future, but mostly just something to do with the kids.
Ill definitely look into the used bow option! |
