Just shoot and don’t worry about wear. If you shoot it enough to wear it out, you should consider yourself lucky.

For sure. Kind of like guys and barrel wear, by the time you pay the ammo cost to wear out a barrel you spent MANY MANY times more than what the gun cost. Even hand loaded 1000 rounds of hunting rifle ammo is $1,500.

For a hunting gun, the aluminum receiver will last most people a lifetime. I woudn't buy a shotgun with an aluminum receiver to shoot 10,000 clays every year though.

I agree but most guys don't buy real lightweight guns to shoot clays on a regular basis. Doing 100-250 rounds a day of 12 gauge a guy wants a gun with some weight, even with light target loads.:)

People that don't now any better do.I have seen several people show up at skeet with lightweight guns, but they usually figure out very quickly, why it isn't a good idea.:sHa_sarcasticlol:

I just read a review of the Caesar Guerini alloy receiver gun that had 600k through it with no problem. I wouldn’t worry about a thing.

I have not seen any worn out either. But this is the internet! Some fellows wear out more keyboards, than firearms.

True!
These guns started appearing 20 years ago and the general thought was the alloy would t hold up like steel. The main wear points and locking points for these guns are titanium or steel inserts like the steel receiver guns. They can be changed out if needed. I hunt with a 686 and superposed and they get pretty heavy after walking all day. I’d buy this gun in a heartbeat

After hunting upland with a 625 Feather for a few years, I would never choose a gun weighing much more than 6 lbs for upland. The recoil is more than I would like for higher volume shooting, but for upland, you do a lot more carrying than shooting.
