Synthetic stock vs laminate stock

Looking at changing to a laminate stock on my rifle from a synthetic. Do you guys find that they scratch as easy as a walnut stock? Do you also find weight gains over the synthetic?

if you go to something like a boyds it will be much heavier.

it should have better or similar scratch resistance.

They scratch just as easily in my experience, but the busy-looking grain disguises it. The laminates are heavy though~that might be a good thing/might be a bad thing..depending on your application.

I've had many Boyd's stocks. Heavy like heck. Scratch just as easy as walnut, and I find the scratches actually more visible. I'd stay with your synthetic. Save the money for moving costs!!!
