Getting blood off a backpack?

So I bagged a decent buck yesterday and while packing it out (by myself, quartered it in the field) i got a bunch of blood on the right side shoulder strap and belt.
Not a big deal but does anyone have a trick for taking it out?

huntinstuff 11-21-2012 06:45 PM

Spray it with Shout, rinse it with hot water

Hunter65 11-21-2012 06:46 PM

Leave it on. It will be a good story, and good camo.

odsixer 11-21-2012 06:51 PM

Yeah I don't care if it all comes out, i just want to get most of it. Thanks guys.

mgvande 11-21-2012 07:01 PM

leave it in, there will be more next year

My wife recently showed me that cold water takes blood out better than hot. Apparently the heat "cooks" the blood into the fabric. I can't argue with the results.

ishootbambi 11-21-2012 08:50 PM

ive had copious amounts of animal goo in mine. i find a pressure washer is about the best way to get it out.

Teapot 11-21-2012 08:56 PM

cold salt water.

I use Peroxide, under $2 from any pharmacy, pour into spray bottle and spray

Take it to a drycleaner, might have a spot remover process that would work.

elkchaser 11-22-2012 11:57 AM

I use oxi clean max force on all my winter land camo to get blood out . Let sit for 15 min then was it . Can't find a stain on any of my gear. Hope it helps

kmacisaac 11-22-2012 06:40 PM

I use shout or spray and wash, seems to do the trick.

If so; try to have a bull elk, a bull moose, and a few whitetail stacked in the back of your truck when you pull into the parking lot. Then go over to get some Tech Wash :sHa_sarcasticlol:

1: Soak in cold water for one hour, rub with soap, wash.

2: Sponge with cold water, spread paste of starch and cold water, dry, brush off lightly.

3: Leather-Dab with hydrogen peroxide, let bubble, wipe off. Or, pour a little peroxide on stain, soak in cold water several hours, launder.

Found that info on a stain removal guide in the laundry room. Hope it helps.

( that's what happens when you get a vasectomy) LOL

1. take pack off

2. ask wife if she can get all cleaned up

3.hand it to wife.

4.Get it back ready to go!

X2 for cold water. Lots of it and there won't be a trace. Hot water, the stain is there forever.

soaking in cold water usually extracts the blood nicely.

Brake Klean!!

I had a buddy in an accident and he needed a ride to the hospital and got blood all over my passenger seat. The only thing that took it out was break cleaner. I think the actual name on the can was Brake Klean.
