Weatherby Vanguard Series 2?

Has anyone bought one of these guns. Or has anyone looked at them. Going to Calgary tomorrow and want to have a look at them. Where would i find the biggest selection and best price?

I bought one at Cabelas here in Edmonton in stainless 270 win.

My father wouldn't believe me until he came to the spruce grove gun club with me to witness it. the rifle will shoot 1" groups at 300 yards from a solid rest. that's 1/3 moa.

The fit and finish are excellent and the trigger is very good. My weight says a little less than 3 lbs.

S2

I have one in 270 win,it shoots under 1"" groups with the right ammo.
I got mine at cabellas in edmonton, not sure if anyone in calgary are selling them yet. I have a older vangaurd and really like the S2.

I picked one up at Cabelas, stainless in .257 Wby. Haven't shot it yet but it and finish are good, trigger is great once you realize that the creep is actually the 2 stage trigger doing its thing :sign0161:. I also picked up an old model Sub-MOA .223 at WSS (haven't shot that one yet either) around the same time. Put a Timney trigger on that one. My only wish was that the S2 had the stock of the Sub-MOA, I like the textured threaded synthetic over the plastic, but think the S2 stock might grow on me.

I have one in .240 Weatherby and yes it is very accurate. Bought mine at Wolverine in Red Deer they are the only place that had a .240 and i tried everywhere. Hey Bigrack you can buy sub moa or accumark stock for your vanguard from Bell and Carlson and yes they ship to Canada. I think i paid $300.

I bought one in .308. Love it. Shoots the 165gr Hornady custom ammo into groups under an inch at 100 meters. I cant wait to get to the other range I belong to and try it at 200 and 300 meters.
Love the trigger. Very crisp and light. Action is smooth as silk.

Have one in 257 Weatherby Mag. Handles great and shoots even better. A good buy

Looked at one at Cabelas today, thinking about buying one in .270 Win. The wood stock on it looks like the same one as the Mark V. Nice.

I too looked at one at WSS. They dont have one in 300 wsm, that I would like to get. However, got to feel the gun. I was pretty impressed with what you get there for the money. The stock has a bit to thick of a feel for me. I have an ultralight weight, and absolutaley love the fit and feel of that stock. I was hoping the S2 stock would have compared a little closer. So still thinking on that one. Glad to hear they seem to shoot well though.

I wish they would churn some of these out in LH models....
