where can I find hammer handle pike?

Looking for some hammer handle pike to catch on a fly rod. I live southwest of calgary, so something within 2 hours of that is definitely preferable. I do have a kayak or float tube that I can fish from.

Will be catch and release

thanks!

Side channel down from 22x bridge. It'll be full of pike.

on the bow? really? cool! haha where do you park and walk?

Park at boat launch in fish creek park. Walk down past the bridge and you'll see a channel. I've always seen pike parked in there. It's not very big. Google map it.

that's a big lake.... I'd have no clue where to start.

I am gonna try to hit it up this hardwater season and learn how to get some fish there though!

Honestly, I have never seen anyone fly fishing out there in the past 12 years when I have been out there

Not sure where you would go but I am sure someone will chime in soon

Yes that one. I'm not sure if it's still there post flood though.

May just be at your travel limit but burnstick sounds ideal far, east or west would be safest from the the flatland navy types be sure to call in all the wakers as burnstick is a no wake lake , who knew ;)
