Maligne Lake trolling

Wow was that a nice trip :47b20s0:

Fishermans Bay is a sweet campground on Maligne(8.5 miles down lake)

it was all most empty (mentee n myself n one other)

lake like glass all 3 days:sHa_shakeshout:

fishing was steady all day's (38):test:

they are chironomidae are happening in Home Bay and down lake

all colors were working but orange n brown were hot

the water is muddy in spots and the trout are everywhere

the thermocline is not established in all the lake:fighting0074:

saw some Pika's and a camp Mule deer n BB on road out

this is my 44 year camping down Maligne

in the picture's u can see why:sSig_cool2:

the tug is the drug :shark:

Nice to see the harlequin ducks as well.

Early season post spawn for the rainbows the females can be a little on the thin side, but are feeding heavy. As for the brookies, not the great fall colours, but very impressive in every other way!!!

Past years where there has been seasonal creek flow coming in down lake, it sure appeared that there were rainbows spawning on the gravel, so it seems that not all spawning is on the outflow.

It does look like you pushed past the crowds in Home Bay and had the lake to yourself!!
