The iron frame is now online:
Henry - 44-40Win - Original Iron Frame - Lever Action Rifle - Walnut Stock/Case Hardened Receiver/Blued, 24"Octagonal Barrel, 13 Round Capacity, Mfg# H011IF, S/N BTHIF01694 --- C1: May sound like a stupid question, but why do these guns don’t have any forearm? P: The fore-end would make it impossible to load and function as the shooter chambered the rounds. C2: They are a replica of the the original Henry rifle. The small brass tab (mag follower) you see under the receiver moves to the end of the barrel to load and as you shoot it travels back towards the receiver. Modern lever guns do away with this by having either a loading port and removable spring (like most Henry rifles and Browning .22) or by having a side loading gate that you push the shells in. This was the original gun that you load and shoot all week Hope that clears it up. --- |
