Waterfowl Migration
 

Where would you say its at currently for 1) ducks 2) canadas 3) snows

It's been completely over for a while here. I would think most are in the states by now.

Birds are pretty much gone here except for the odd straggler. These -17 nights tend to push them out.

Saw quite a few geese keeping some water holes open but there flying in all different fields. They will be moving south any day I expect. Tough birds can’t believe stayed this long.

While most of the migration has gone, there are still lots of birds to be had in Southern Alberta. They are using the rivers and holes they keep open in lakes to roost. Some great hunting still left, with large groups hitting the fields and flying all day.

If you live where your namesake suggests you should know where to look. Just park yourself around the Sugar Factory lake and follow the birds to the fields, same at Fincastle, all the lakes especially the Sugar factory it will have open water. On the so side of town by the water pond they like to roost by the hundreds once most lakes freeze up You should be able to locate feeding birds south of there any morn from about 10 to 1 Just get out and drive around you will find them and in good numbers too.

I live in Saskatoon and see one or two flocks of honkers every day still.

Calgary sky is loaded with flocks of geese

There's a few around Cold Lake/ bonnyville/St. Paul

Seen about 300 on some barley swaths this morning. Green heads too. And I seen one pinner. I'm pretty sure he's lost.
