Ice fishing around Fort Mac

Hey guys. I resigned my job, end date Jan 15.
I'm headed to Fort Mac for the last time for one more job.

Can anyone recommend a place to ice fish around town or on the way back south? You can PM me if you don't want to make a sport public.

Thanks and happy new year.

Gregoire Lake is where my dad would take us when we were kids.

When the store used to be open at Marianna Lakes, one of the staff told me they fished for pike and perch in the lake behind camp. I think the local native band also nets there occasionally.
If you go down 661, you can fish at Christina Lake, at Conklin.
Also Cowper, just east of Janvier used to have Jumbo perch as well as pike.
There are some other lakes such as Wiau, Clyde and a few others that you can find if you get a backroads atlas. And of course Lac La Biche is producing well too. Square Lake used to be good too.
Lots of options, grab a Barry Mitchell and the backroad atlas to find lots of opportunities

Gregoire down 881 is the closest for Pike/Walleye. Good fishing at times.

Engstrom a bit farther down 881 has Rainbows in it.

Thanks for all the responses !

Just an Update, the Gregoire Lake provincial park is closed until further notice.

I accessed the lake from a road behind the gas station, it was dark when I got there and fished for a few hours with no luck, I couldn't seem to find a deep spot though maybe 13 feet below the ice?

Thanks for the update.

How thick was the ice? Were there any vehicles on it?

Best fishing I’ve had and the deepest part of the lake is over by the Island.

I dint even know there was an island, interesting.
There was a path that was cleared by what looked like a pick up with a blade, and tracks to go with, many prints of snowmobiles and I saw two in person.

The ice was at lest 24'' think and booming like a thunderstorm that night. Kind of scary, first time hearing those noises, and alone in the dark in a unfamiliar place...
any way.
