rifle scope sighting in problem
I have mounted new scopes on a couple of rifles I have. A .22 and a .17 caliber. My trouble is I can't zero the rifles on the bulls eye. On both scopes I run out of left. I have dialed the wind adjustment as far left as it will go and I am still right of the bulls eye. Do I have to remount the scopes> Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a mounting problem , take them off and double check everything is level and center

Exactly the same issue with two rifles/scopes. It sounds like a mounting issue.
|
Just curious. What type of mounts are being used?
I'd second the re-mounting suggestion. I'd go right back to square 1 just to be sure there wasn't something I may have accidentally missed. |
Is it possible you're cranking the windage in the wrong direction?
|
When sighting in the directions on the turrets are the direction you want the bullet to move to

Maybe take a picture and post of the scope, the rings and specifically how they are attached ..... might be able to get someone to identify the problem.

I had to take the scopes off and remount them then used a bore sighter to ensure they were aligned. It worked well. Just got pack from sighting them in and now I have no excuse to miss.
Thanks to all for the advice. |
I was going to suggest to re-mount and bore sight the scope before you take the rifle out to the range again, but it looks like you already solved the problem.
A good laser bore sighter does help a lot, and eliminates a lot of frustration. Good job!!! |
