Shot Oct 11, 2008 8:00am, at a distance of 50yrds. A perfect double lung shot, he only traveled about 70 yrds after he was hit. You don't see too many forkers this big and heavy!!

Thanks guys, I was able to get in front of him coming up through a draw, 2 smaller bucks came up first so I knew where he was going to go and was able to close the distance to 50 yrds by the time he came through. Just one of those mornings when everything went right!! Special thanks to my cousin for being with me, he's holding him in this shot.

Theres a nice photo! Being grazed off there is sure nice for the pics. Thats something i seek out when looking for spots for a shoot, (if it can be found).

Rockymtnx 10-16-2008 03:08 PM

Thats a heavy looking two pointer.
Congrats on a job well done.
Thanks for sharing.

Duk Dog 10-16-2008 05:18 PM

SugarCreek 10-17-2008 06:58 AM

Congrats on a clean kill and a fine trophy. You sure had a frosty morning....not bad if you are doing some spot and stock but a little more challanging if you are sitting in a ground blind or tree stand. Well done......Marco

Thanks again guys, Mossyfoot, I couldn't agree more that thought went through my head when we first spotted him. But I'm very happy to have him and excited to do a European mount. Anyone have any pointers on doing Euro's? Thanks for the comments on the actual photo's its something I enjoy and am working on.

congrats

If you are in one of the cwd zones you cannot get Euros done unfort really sucks so hopefully you are outside of them

Rackmastr 10-20-2008 10:51 AM

That is one heck of a cool lookin deer.....big old heavy forker!! Sweet!

I have actually seen one forker bigger than that in Alberta.....quite a bit bigger. He had about a frame that 'should' have supported a 160 class rack, but he was just a GIANT forker.....very cool.

shirtr 10-23-2008 10:55 AM

Yeah that is a heavy 2 point.
We have a 2x2 whitetail at home that puts quite a few other deer to shame around the coutry side and I am sure he puts his fair share of holes in all the other deer around the area when it comes to the rut. Someone really needs to take him out of the gene pool. He is heavy and wide and looks to be trouble when fighting. He sports a couple of swords while fighting.

Very nice deer and pics, thanks for sharing..
