Wolfmaster rams vs #1 rams

Hey guys. I've got some freshly sold coyote pelt money burning a hole in my pocket. I'm looking to add more rams to my collection. Currently I am running with only #1 rams. I've heard more than a few times to go with Wolfmasters for coyotes. I'm in SK so options for other snares are limited.

What are the pros and cons of each?

I use ram #1’s and have had no reason to make me think I need Wolf masters for coyotes. Clean quick kills every time, and don’t feel like needing to hide the extra size of a wolfmaster is really necessary.

One biggest thing guys that feel they need wolfmaster do is put their anchor thru the big coil of the spring. If you put your anchor cable on the side arm that the lap link is on every time the coyote thrashes around the ram stays tight and the coyote can’t chew out or get slack in snare.

IMO....

If You trap in an area where Wolves are common, use wolfmaters.
Otherwise, just use Coyote rams. I use both, makes no difference.

Wolf masters are also good if there is lot of snow, as you can lay them flat in a wide open area and still have enough of a loop to do the job.

I’m in southern sask. all I use is #1 rams and have no reason to change. If you set your loop size and height correct I don’t have bad catches. Nothing but quick kills.
