Tanning a fox pelts for wall hanger

Question for any one that’s done one then home tanning kits got a cpl fox an a Coon I was thinking of trying my hand at tanning my self with the orange bottle tanning kits was wondering the foxes I fleashed am stretched Coon was just skinned after reading some info online an sounded like u don’t flesh an stretch em before hand so does this affect the tanning process an would they still
Hold the shape once done ?

Uh oh, you said “Orange Bottle” and now heads are going to explode.

I use that stuff all of the time for lower priced fur (ie. fox, small beaver and ermine) and it works very well for wall hangers and beaver hoops. The problem that you may have is that you’re supposed to start the process with fresh green fur (ie. skin, flesh and salt). Fox slip really easy, I don’t know about coon, so you might lose it if you try to rehydrate it. I’d suggest trying it for the first time on freshly caught fur and follow the directions on the bottle rather than farting around with rehydrating and trying it.

That $80 kit that some on here recommended might do it but I haven’t tried it yet.

Lol the forbidden orange bottle yea I read that about the rehydrating I’ll maybe test on the Coon the is just skinned an frozen in freezer an just send the foxes with the next batch of yotes

All my fox that I do I rehydrate them. Cool to warm water, put fox in let soak for 5 min work it around then turn hide carefully. I’ve only had one tear of about 30. But I also haven’t done the orange bottle one I use a different product.
