" Jackfish
the bay has 18 to 20 inches, the top couple cloudy the rest nice and clear. 4 fish for my first outing of the season. shore access at the bay very mud" this was this week and I just checked the access, easy as pie on Jackfish at least. one tent out from the beach at Kinbrook the usual shacks up Reddelback Bay, Thinking I will probably fish tomorrow so I will update again, unless I can get back into my walleye spot depending on the amount of snow

Is there much snow getting onto the lake and on the lake Wayne

WayneChristie 02-07-2024 08:34 AM

there were some drifts but driving on was ok, I just did a little turnaround I didnt go too far out. Im likely fishing it tomorrow its supposed to be foggy with freezing drizzle today today not my favourite road conditions

sitting on Jackfish right now, about 19 or 20 inches of ice and quite a bit of snow drifting but not bad. had a pike taking my big baits for walks so I put a minnow on my big 4/0 circle hook and brought her in for photos :bad_boys_20: she wasn't more than 9 or 10 pounds so I'm still waiting for her gramma

Thanks Wayne. On the ice with the truck and cargo trailer sleeping quarters. Used the sxs to check ice ahead of us. Good 18-20 inches all the way. Caught some real nice walleye tonight. Snow drifts were soft so easy to get through

nice, I was going to go out again today but my migrane says different. I did see a walleye swim by the last time out that was bigger than any of the pike I caught, usually have one or two show up out there.

I might have to give JFB a shot again sometime in my hunt for the elusive 30" Walter.... headed out that way again this Sunday/Monday for an overnighter, but likely start at DP and see how that goes, first....

Caught some close to that 30” size this winter but not quite.
