I found the fish are not in their normal behaviour try ur early winter spots in the shallows the water seems quite warm for this time of year. I bepieve the weatuer has affected their behaviour

I was out there Friday with a buddy, it wasn't slow at all. Our biggest was 12lbs.
Today I was out with some other buddies and it was a bit slower today, but we ended the day with me landing a 15lb 12oz beast.

We found it slow just small pike around 5 lbs in deeper water ,then moved into 2 feet of water and pulled in two just under 20 lbs .
Evening time it got slow as we watched many trucks leave the ice.

I guess we just assigned different meaning to the word slow.

I figured slow = going 10 under the speed limit, not coming to a complete stop. I know where you are now, we're good now. :happy0034:

Yep, was out a Wab today, on the Fallis point. Super slow. Spent 4-5 hours, got 2 pike on the ice (and back in the hole) ~4lbs or so, couple more spit the hooks.

Never ice fished there before, ice fished straight across on the other side of the lake and it was great.

I was out todayfor about 4hrs at Fallis and about 20ft of water and no luck at all. But is was a nice way to spend the date with my daughter. In my new Eskimo Quick Fish 6 Man. Ice was approx 18 Inches.

Sounds like fun, 18 inches there we measured 15 inches on the other side and fished 8-12 feet of water.

We find most day thats 8-15 feet of water is hot, we've tried fishing deeper and had NADA. Might try going shallower next time.

Was out at Fallis and we got 10 pike in 6 hours. The highlight fish were 38, 39.5, 40, and 41 inches long. It wasn't a ton of fish but we go for the bigger ones anyways.

Was at fallis point yesterday from 8am til 2pm and landed 9 pike between the two of us. Biggest was about 6-8pds and we were in 20ft of water. The guy next to us in the honda civic had one 9pds but it was pretty slow all day.5 of the pike were caught in a span of 15mins. It was a beautiful day out there and well worth the trip just to be able to relax and unwind.:sHa_shakeshout:

coppercarbide 01-08-2012 12:01 PM

Haha, yep, saw you all out there today, I had to smile seeing the Civic on the ice in January, what a year, hahaha. I was in the black F150 on the West side of the point. Got out on the lake with my Dad for the first time in probably 5 years.
Was happy not to get skunked, and the weather just couldn't have been any better!

I used google maps satellite and parked exactly on the drop-off (you can see where the color changes), hit about 16 feet. Saw a bunch of perch on the camera, but couldn't make them hit a thing. One of the pike we landed was on a meps with a bit of shrimp, other was a jig with some maggots. Just didn't seem too hungry.

What a fantastic day as far as weather went tho!

Smasher 01-08-2012 05:59 PM

I saw you guys there too.I drove by at around 2pm. I was in the two tone brown and tan f150 supercrew. Glad to hear you guys had a good day.
