Let's see your boats for 2017

Alright guys, so it's that time of the year again to work on the boats over the winter and drool at the new stuff at the boat shows. What's everyone got planned for 2017?

http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/s...pscna6dlha.jpg

Mine is tucked away in the shop for now, winter plans:
New Trophy Plus Prop
Lift the motor 2" off the transom
New Motorguide Xi5
Lowrance Elite 7ti or HDS9 depending on budget.

neilsledder 11-30-2016 12:30 PM

If I can sell mine for the price I want I will be getting a 1775 extreme duty jet boat!

I have been taking part in an online kayak fishing tournament this year and I should win the top prize which is one of these mirage drive inflatable kayak/SUP combinations. I can't wait to try it out and am hoping it will be good for flying to destinations such as visiting family in Florida and tournaments in eastern Canada/US.

Hopefully I'll get mine out on the water a little more than I did this year. Barely 12 hours added to the hour meter this year. :(

out of the one time ive used it ive loved it. so quiet yet jumps onto plane. and the winterizing process was awesome. its a 115 high output. but ive spent a few trips in willowtrails new alumacraft 185 and he has the 135hp high output and its spectacular as well. don't think il ever be going away from evinrude and their etecs.

Had to put a new- to me power plant in it this year however because of a broken crank but it's all good:)

Harborcraft 1875 white water jmax. Has a 165hp Yamaha mr1 motor and jet in it. It's a great boat with a bulletproof motor!

16' Explorer jon with a 25hp prodrive. Not much on the go with my rig over the winter. I'd like to get a trolling motor of some sort for it and i need to modify the my rock guard so it will function a bit better. Mainly i just can't wait to get it back on the water.

2016 Warrior V208/350 Verado.

My to do/to buy list before spring -

- Custom snap on travel cover.

- Bimini top.

- Test a couple more props. The new Bravo 1 LT looks promising, and the Rev4 is always a good option.

It's not even fully frozen yet and I can hardly wait for open water season!

Just sold my 17ft lund angler SS and bought a 20ft lund fisherman with a 260hp Mercruiser and a Honda 15 horse kicker. Was looking for a boat that will do better on bigger water. This is the first boat I ever had with an inboard so we will see how I like it.
Planning 2 electric downriggers
Minnkota on bow with auto pilot
Fish finder with SI

Very interesting inflatable kayak. I watched some youtube video, looks like it is very stable on the water. How much would it be?

Yes being a SUP style design it will be very stable. I have seen guys stand right up at the front and walk around on them in videos/reviews.

As with all Hobie mirage drive boats it is pretty pricey. Austin kayak sells them for $2150 USD so to buy one up here I am guessing it would probably be $2800-3000 CAD.

It is a neat design and I hope it works out good. Heavy as far as inflatable goes so it won't be much help for remote lakes(although easier to cart around then a full size kayak I guess) but for people that don't have garage space etc it would be a good boat.

lok 12-02-2016 09:21 AM

The last upgrade for the boat will be enclosure sides for the bimini.

How well does it track in the wind?
Just looking at it appears it could be very frustrating in the wind. Kind of like flat bottomed zodiacs.

Hoping to get a few good trips in my Oldtown Next.

Only managed two trips last year and once I was used to the double blade it went well.
May try to get a nice clipper or something similar this summer. My small Next is the day trip exploring canoe. Maybe some scouting before hunting season starts but then bring in the clipper for the real deal 7 day trip. We will see what the minister of finance says.

Well nothing new on my Ranger other than I sold it which was very painful. Left coast way more enjoyable than our lakes. Best fishin boat I have ever had..

On the ocean boat I added a removable canvas top to the back. Now we just find a small cove, toss the anchor anywhere we want and camp right on the water.
Lodges want $250-$350 night ea. save way more cash to spend on fuel, gear and bait. Best experience ever!!
