Spray lake
 

Anyone been up to Spray lately? Wondering if it now safe to walk on.

Friend of mine drove by on Sunday and said it was half open but people were ice fishing. Lots of rain and poor ice everywhere else in Kananaskis

Pretty thin and open parts ,I’m going to wait week still

Well do not believe any of the reports.

Stopped at the boat launch and no problem launching a boat, the odd patch of paper thin ice around and that was it. Drove down to Sparrow hawk and no ice of any size. Spray is wide open shore to shore east to west north to south.

Wound up sitting on shore for a few hrs fishing with ice rods. LOL no bites just a steady wind.

I think it will be closer to XMas before it will be safe at Spray. Stopped at Ghost on my way home and from the boat launch there is a huge heave from the dam across to the west shore. Another large pressure heave half way down the lake from so. shore all the way to the north. Very dangerous IMO

Confirming what Troller said. I had a look at Spray Lake on Monday and it is pretty much wide open. Some thin ice around the edges, only safe if you are a duck. It has been very mild there as of late.
