Stumbled into an old vintage baitcasting reel today
Found an unused still in the box Shakespeare Wondereel 2612 bait casting reel today at a garage sale. Was still wrapped in the box and with paperwork. Still has old Macleods price tag on the reel. Is their any demand for these?

I don't know for sure but I expect there is. You could give the Canadian Pickers a call or send them a message through the discovery channel website.
They should be able to tell you. |
ill take it how much u want for it?? pm if u want?!

is there a date on it any where?

Nice find, I don't think I could give that up. A little piece of Canadiana, the Macleods price tag makes it for me.

There is no date on it but the Macleods price tag on it would lead me to believe its pre 65????

Try here. There a couple of links that may narrow down the age.

I have a couple of those cool little pieces of antiquity!:)
They normally run about $25, they are not what you would call a high end reel like a Pflueger or some of the other brands, but I like them anyway. The price tag and the box adds to the reel as well. Cat |
Thank you for all the replies fellas. It appears their should be a two letter date code on it but I'm afraid that its not to be seen and is more than likely under that darn Macleods price tag....

With box, condition and paperwork I'd say it's worth about $45 - $65. And to add yes don't take the price tag off the reel.
