purgatory.sv 11-21-2012 08:35 PM

The one that doesn’t fail?

wwbirds 11-21-2012 08:41 PM

My reloads fine tuned to my 30-06 with ladder tests to reveal the most accurate combination pushing a 165 grain Nosler Partition.

Redneck Renagade 11-21-2012 08:46 PM

165gr SST's pushed by IMR 4064

Ask huntinstuff. He chucks alot of those rocks down range.

Donkey Slayer 11-22-2012 07:25 AM

for deer the 165 grain SSTs and IMR 4350
for moose and elk 168 g TTSX and IMR 4350

180gr. Nosler Accubond in front of RL22. GREAT bush round...

sheephunter 11-22-2012 08:56 AM

Vanessa has been beating up on the critters pretty well with Hornady Superformance with a 165 grain GMX.

trapshooter 11-22-2012 08:58 AM

165g. Hornady Superformace!
Dad has been using them for about 1 1/2 seasons and loves em!

Edit: Sorry sheephunter... didn't see your post.

dfrobert 11-22-2012 09:58 AM

180 Accubonds and 165 barnes triple shocks. The triple shocks group very nice in my gun.

Tried some 150 grain Hornady GMX. My gun didn't shoot them worth a damn. Not sure if they are too fast of a load for my 30-06 or if my barrel twist is not set up for that type of speed.....

Metalmike123 11-22-2012 10:08 AM

It depends on what kind of game really, lots of good options.

Lefty-Canuck 11-22-2012 10:28 AM

A well constructed hunting bullet in 165gr will not steer you wrong.

petew 11-22-2012 11:20 AM

165 gr Partitions with 54gr IMR 4350 and Mag primers, good for Antelope to moose.

mrb985 11-22-2012 06:31 PM

Awesome, Will try them out this weekend.

I normally use a 150 ttsx with IMR 4350 but this year I tried the federal 180 trophy bonded high energy load very fast and accurate so I bought a schwack of them i

Pathfinder76 11-22-2012 10:29 PM

My favorite was the 150 TSX.

rena0040 11-23-2012 10:04 AM

I decided to try out the new federal trophy copper this year in 165 grain. They shoot well for me and performed well on an elk and mule deer, they may be a new favorite.

FallAirFever 11-23-2012 10:53 AM

180 gr TTSX out of my buddies Remington 30-06 are super accurate! He has 3 deer under his belt with them this season at various ranges and they have done the trick for him.

Fish Hooked 11-23-2012 07:17 PM

Fusion 165 grain works awsome in my tika 30-06

mrb985 11-23-2012 08:35 PM

I tried out the federal 150 gr nosler ballistic tips and they seem ok, anoyone have thoughts on them?

6.5 shooter 11-23-2012 09:04 PM

190 gr. Hornady BTSP , good old cup and core bullets. Go were you want them to go and do EXACTLY what their meant to do when they arrive, pretty impressive BC as well.

P.S. and their cheap (er)!

Probably a good deer bullet, I wouldnt use BT's on anything bigger though. I've been using 180 grain Fusion and Winchester Powermax bonded amo. Both are cheap, shoot good from my rifle, and get good penetration. More bullet than is needed, or desirable, if you are strictly hunting deer though.

mrb985 11-23-2012 10:24 PM

How about the Federal premium sierra game king BTSP?

martinbns 11-24-2012 06:57 AM

In about half a dozen 30-06 rifles, 168 gr TSX, 58 grains of H4350, federal 210m primer and an RP case works pretty much perfectly.

sask 11-24-2012 07:54 PM

180 grain Nosler partition; Ramshot Hunter

Roro85 11-25-2012 03:51 PM
