Dnz scope mounts vs tally light weights for tikka t3

Hey all,

Well the day has come! I finally found a left hand tikka t3 308, it has taken me a year to find and thanks to Dan at reliable gun in Vancouver I will be holding it in my hands tomorrow. I will be mounting a leupold vx3 4.5-14x40 cds on top and trying to get opinions on what rings and bases to use. I've narrowed it down to a dnz one piece or talley lightweights. Which do you guys prefer? Or is there something else I should be looking at? Any info would be great!

Tally

I have the Tally Lightweights on my Weatherby Vanguards (.270 + 7mm-08) they seem to be well made and i havent had a problem with them not staying true or out of alignmnet. So far so good. I like the fact they are made out of one piece aircraft aluminum, more rigidity.
Of course on a higher recoiling firearm like a magnum, I prefer Leupold Dual Dovetails. Hands down one of the strongest scopemounts I have ever used. But they are two piece and made of steel so there may be a slight weight difference between the tally and the leupold. Is it enough to notice while holding the gun, probably not.

I have the same rifle (bolt on the correct side) in 7-08 and the same scope. I chose DNZ and I really like them. Look good and work good.

My 6.5-284, 270win, 300wm all are left handed tikkas and all have talley rings. My 1885 6.5x55 also has talleys. It's all I buy if possible.

I like the talley lightweights, use them on my Tikka's 300wsm and 7mm-08rem and a few other rifles.

No experience with the DNZ.

Sounds like the favorite are the tallys, I guess I'll give them a try.

I have and use the DNZ rings and bases, I find them well made and lightweight.

I own and use both, in today's market buy what is available, they both work.

I have both the dnz mounts make it harder to top load but both are quality mounts and I would use which ever one I found first or best price:fighting0030:
