AB Chief Firearms Officer

Has anyone had trouble getting in touch with the AB Chief Firearms Officer's office today. When I try the 780 495-7799 number I get put thru to the BC's office and just a recording. Even happenswhen I call the 1800 #.

We've been having issues with them at work. We're waiting on 4 ATC and they're not sending them for some reason. Kind of sucks because we're doing requals over the next couple weeks and are going to need another 30, or so, or the money stops moving at your local bank!

Think I read that you have to get a hold of the CFO in B.C. or Sask until the end of Sept.

Do you know where you heard that from? I might need to take that to work and let them know. Half our ATCs expire at the end of September and we've been waiting for almost 3 weeks on just four of them.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it:

Calls to the Alberta and Northwest Territories Chief Firearms Office will be re-directed to British Columbia between September 13-17

Due to temporary staff shortages, the Alberta and Northwest Territories Chief Firearms Office has a licensing backlog. With the increased call volumes that are anticipated for the upcoming hunting season, the Canadian Firearms Program’s national call centre and the British Columbia and Yukon CFO offices will be providing assistance to Alberta clients instead of the Alberta CFO. Calls will be re-directed to CFP staff in BC from September 13-17 via the national call centre.

Current processing dates (where secondary screening is required)
