Just read in the Red Deer Paper if you have a shack on Sylvan, they will be removing them, effective today. :D

What a great idea. Maybe someone should email the town about that.

Come to think of it maybe i will.

Town should come up with a bylaw....no WIN then the shack is yanked no warning :)

Your name and phone number should be enuf. Why, oh why in Gods name do I want my WIN or lic number out for EVERYONE to see.

Auction the deliquent shacks, more funds for upkeep of the fishery at Sylvan. :sHa_shakeshout:

WIN and/or name and phone number....what would you rather have showing?

Fake names and phone numbers are easy to come up with...:)

Either way the shack should be able to be traced back to the person responsible for it.

mine too, just a registration number alberta wide is a better solution, then no one has access to your info but the right folks

bwackwabbit 04-02-2012 08:05 PM

Registration= DB maintenance= Resources= Cost of which passed on to YOU. Win#= all of that already in place.

Privacy is dead! long live Privacy!

Cheers.

well if nobody cares about their WIN then they likely wont care if they leave a shack out or not, and they just need to put bogus contact info on file.

Removing as in burning or leveling them? I wonder if a guy couldn't pick up a free shack if he drove down there with a trailer.

I agree with the registering of the shacks. WIN number, registration number.....whatever. Then the removal bill can be sent to the owner.

mudbug 04-02-2012 09:10 PM

I think they should have to get a number from fish and wildlife to put on the side of the shack before it's placed on the ice. That way F&W know who it belongs to and who to call or bill for the removal of the shack at season's end. :thinking-006:

Rockymtnx 04-02-2012 09:42 PM

I think it should be just like a bear bait.
WIN# on it. Then F&W can get ahold of you if needed.
No point re-inventing the wheel for something that has already been done with bear baits for 20 years.

bwackwabbit 04-02-2012 09:55 PM

I'm all for that auction idea, good one!

2X on that, they sure a lot of damage when hit them in a boat. It would be a great money maker as well. To lazy to drag it off, you pay the Piper.
