Fibreglass RV repair

Hi all.

Would anyone know of someone who would be able to do work on an older fibreglass camper trailer (like a Boler)?

I have asked around at different RV shops and they don't seem to do too much of this work.

I'd like to get the trailer sanded, have any cracks fixed, then painted, plus get the outside door re-hung.

Would an autobody place maybe be able to do this?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks.

In my world(appraiser) more and more big truck(semi) body shops are getting into the fiberglass trailer/motor home repairs in Edmonton.

May want to check which truck shops in Calgary and see who might do this.

Look on the fiberglass rv forum lots of help on there. If the shell is not in bad shape buffing is better then sanding if you sand off the gelcoat it's a really big job to repair.
The door hinges have springs inside that get fatigued from the weight of the door you can get parts for these on the same forum. Another important thing is the steps are attached to the main frame causing cracks be sure to inspect this has caused many accident.

The fiberglassrv.com forum is very friendly somebody will know somebody to help you out.

I’ve heard that fiberglass boat shops sometimes take this work on. If you’ve got time it’s pretty easy to teach yourself, and it’s not really hard work.
Good luck.

I redid a 1978 17' Boler for hunting it was good winter project I used spray nine to clean then buffed the outside shell, somebody glued some rubber mat on the front I removed that and used spray liner.
