Pembina River Walleye. Pics and Video

Hi there!

Since I have spare time now, I could do some edits on old footage taken earlier this year. I had only couple trips this summer, one of them was a trip to Pembina River, where I had a luck with jigging Walleye.

So, please welcome my fresh edit out from that trip.

I finally had chance to catch a fish on my handmade bucktail jig, which unfortunately got lost in the rocks. Gonna have to tie more like this, they seem to be working quite well, I caught 3 fish before it got snagged.

Question?

What are yours favorite jigs/hooks for walleye peeps?
Has anyone tried using the same jig for ice fishing? Without bait of course

Mr Twister are my favorite soft plastic jigs.

my favorite color to use is their watermelon flake colored ones in the 3" length. Absolutely deadly!

As for actual jig heads I prefer the Northlands Tackle ones with the little willow leaf blade dangling off the bottom. I'll try and find a picture for you.

Looks yummy!
Did you try this rig for ice fishing?

I don't see why it wouldn't work in winter? Just pound it off the bottom and kick up some dust, then bounce it about a foot up. If there are walleye in the area, they will come check it out.

You could also use those jig heads to still fish bait, light reflects off that little spinner blade that hangs off the bottom, bringing fish in. Maybe just give it a little twitch every now and then. Heck, a pike might cruise by and absolutely slam that kind of presentation! Fish love that sparkle during winter, really grabs their attention.

Gonna have to try it out than.
I've seen those jigs many times, but never have tried them yet.
Thanks bud!
