Camping on the bow river

Heading out this weekend and I was hoping to go somewhere along the bow river. I was told a while back to go between Calgary and Carseland but when I look I cannot see any campsites along there. I need either a campsite where there is power or where I can run the generator all night with no worries. Would like to catch either rainbows or browns. I don't mind having to look a bit to find good spots but it would be nice to camp somewhere along the river you can fish at. Any advice on where to go is much appreciated as I cannot find any spots around the stretch I planned to go to. Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge you have two choices for actual campgrounds.... Nature's Hideaway, which is closed because of the flooding, and the campground at Caresland. People also camp on the islands, if there are any left, on the Bow.

Looked at the one in Carseland which appears to be closed from what I read from a quick google search. No need for an actual campground if that is how we have to go.

Whats the fishing like above Calgary? All the campgrounds seem to be around there instead of the area I want to fish.

Well it is beginning to look like the bow is out of the question. What other places would be recommended to camp and fish at? Getting close to the weekend so I gotta find a place before then so we aren't just winging it. Any help is still appreciated.

The fishing is pretty good in the Canmore region, but the best fishing in the Bow is below the sewage treatment plant in the city and below. I don't think there are a lot of opportunities to camp right along the Bow, but someone can feel to correct me if they know of any place.

No camping anywhere along the Bow. Most all private land.

Used to float it with the boy scouts and we had to get permission from F%W to camp out on one of the islands. Most are gone now.

Caresland would be about it.

Alright, I think what I will end up doing is camping at the Bow Valley park near Canmore and fish there for a bit and then go out to where I wanted to fish for a day. That should be the easiest way to do things so hopefully the fishing will be good at the campground also. Thanks for the help!

No camping at all south east on Bow? Dang. Wanted to take an overnight canoe float and fish trip with my sons. Now I'm stumped as to where to go. Bow would have been good as the wife could have come pick us up at the end, or could have used the Bow shuttle. Now we will have to drive further, take two cars, drop one on the way, yadda yadda... So what other river would be good for an overnight float? Red Deer? Crowsnest or something else down there?
