Upper and Lower K Lakes

I am assuming that those 2 lakes are not fishing well with the hot weather but I am headed there tomorrow for 10 days. I know of many sweet spots and how to fish it but I am just wondering if anyone was up there this last week that can tell me how slow it really is?
Has anyone been up to Rawson? How is it fishing?

Fished lower and Rawson last weekend. Lower was pretty dead (may have just been the areas I was in) but Rawson was still good - a couple of decent takes in a short amount of time.

I'd say go for the hike

We are definitely planning a trip up to Rawson. The plan was to continue up to Sarrail Ridge or maybe just hang out and fish.
Were they hitting dry flies?

Awesome views from Sarrail Ridge.

Yep, due to limited time I was just using a hare's ear and it seemed to yield some interest. I'm sure some others on here might have different opinions of what works up there. All I'd add is the farther off the shoreline you can venture, the better.

Good hits on dries last week, but only on a #22 griffith's gnat. They were picky, for sure. Much less picky with regards to nymphs, but they did want them moving fairly quickly.

For upper and lower dont forget a wasp/bee pattern this time of year

I was at Rawson last Thursday (9th), fishing was really good it was my first time to fish there and I'm going back again on Thursday the 16th. I used drys and nymph but I get more success with nymph pattern under an indicator. If you're still in the area and want to fish rawson we can meet up at the parking lot I'll be there between 7-7:30am.

Try streamers too, was up a couple weeks ago, got one with big shoulders but skinny tail. It was pushing 18", followed it right into shore, saw the take
