How deep is the snow on Spray lakes?

:sHa_shakeshout: Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with how much snow is on the ice up at Spray lake or upper K. I would like to go up there this weekend.

I was up there yesterday and it there was a bit of drifting starting by the afternoon. There's really only an inch or two of soft stuff on top though, walking on top isn't too bad.

I was out at Driftwood on Saturday. Toughest walk I’ve ever had out there. Probably 8” of snow in most places combined with flood ice. I was sinking 3” or so with every step and was wearing snow shoes. About 4” or so of floodwater was really annoying but fishing was excellent. I don’t usually bring fish home but did this time.

Nice haul!

I was out near Sparrowhawk last Sunday and a couple of guys caught a beauty fish, 10-12 pounds or so. Prior to that, the biggest fish I've seen caught out of there was about 3 pounds.

Anyone been up there in the last week?

Thinking about taking the young family for the day...
- How much snow?

I was up Sunday near Sparrowhawk, the snow wasn't terrible, but it was a bit soft because it was drifting. We were sinking in an inch or two, but not too bad.

Ice is getting pretty thick though, auger extension recommended.
