Blr 7mm08 trigger skips
Does anyone know someone in the Edmonton area that can work on this gun. The trigger skips sometimes and does not fire.I took it to Bashaw for two months and when I picked it up it still skips.

I truly hope you find a gunsmith willing to look at your BLR.
There aren’t many who can or will, because the BLR is quite the mechanical nightmare internally. If you do find a gunsmith who is willing and is proficient in the inner workings of the BLR, please share who this would be. |
Good luck. The absolute worst trigger to work on..hope you find someone who can fix the issue

Try Sights and Arms in St Albert or Tier One Armoury in the Cornet industrial area.

Rusty Wood Trading, not in Edmonton but they specialise in lever actions. Had him do a couple of BLR triggers for friends a few years back. He did a good job. Call him and see if he is still doing them, the other guys are right that the BLRs are hard to work on.

^ I agree.
I have been looking into adjusting the trigger on mine and couldn’t find anyone. It seems like there aren’t that many in the US either, not those that people would trust anyway. I haven’t looked that much though, mostly read on the various forums for the US. I wouldn’t mind mailing mine out if there was a trustworthy professional somewhere in Canada. |
I believe the take-up on the trigger has been played with trying to make the trigger pull less . Some things are not made to be messed with. The trigger of course disconnects from the firing mechanism , minimal amount of adjustment makes a big difference . I have worked on several and it’s a time consuming job and of course time =$

Just talked to Rusty Wood, they are no longer much interested in working on the BLRs. With all the changes and models parts are very hard to get, on top of the fact they were always hard to work on. You guys will have to do more phoning around. Might want to call the Browning Warranty outlet
Browning Canada Sports Ltd./Ltee 5583 Chemin St-François St-Laurent, Quebec H4S 1W6 514-333-7261 Just saw the FPS works on them. Would be well worth a discussion, at least he is local. |
Thanks, Dean.
