Cold weather reel lube
 

I've noticed a few of my ice reels are very stiff when I,m using them out side the heated tent in -15 or colder weather . What reel oil or grease does a person use on ice fishing reels?

abu garcia reel grease/oil or quantum hotsauce is real nice.
Quantum hotsauce is hard to find right now since there main distributor burned down a while back, not sure if its up and running again.

i also recommend take apart the reels and removing all the old factory grease and oil. Many are just huge thumbed in gobb of grease

Frabill makes it for tip ups etc. Can put some on braid if it’s freezing and the reel.

X2 on the quantum hot sauce.

slick 50 is good to -65 and is the best lube ever. used it for winch drum on bed truck and pole truck for years so you could pull out line just like summertime. I think Canadian Tire carries it.

Guys who sells the Quantum hot sauce?

I bought mine at Wholesale, not sure who carries it now. Actually looks like it's discontinued now that I searched it.

I'm getting the same thing WildCats. I can't seem to find it either. :confused:

I talked to quantum last month, no hot sauce till there main distribution office is back up and running. Unless u can find old stock somewhere
