Shore fishing for kids?

I was looking for information on what the best locations are for fishing from the shore. I really want to introduce my 4 year old to fishing as he is showing interest in it. Are there any good or even decent places that are not more then a few hours outside of Edmonton/Sherwood Park? Are there any specific places to steer clear of? Any information would be extremely helpful as I'm from the states and am not familiar with having more then a couple options. I'd just really like to make it an enjoyable experience for him as I remember how much I loved it when I was a kid. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Hermitage park in Edmonton would be a good spot to introduce him, unfortunately it may be a little slow right now but so are most lakes and ponds.Beaumont may be another option.

I may he assuming too much here but make sure you pick up the regs and license.

Good luck.

I may he assuming too much here but make sure you pick up the regs and license for yourself ( four year olds do not need a license).

Good luck.
