Non-lethal guns with rubber bullets

Are these restricted like your average gun in Canada?

Also where would you be able to purchase one?

I remember being told that they aren't available to the public, however, you can buy rubber bullets marketed for bear defense for your regular old shotgun. Not sure what the classification would be on something that is specifically designed to shoot rubber bullets, but if it fire them at over 500fps, then it's legally considered a firearm, doesn't matter if it's shooting marshmallows or lead.

I'm not 100% sure but up to 2 years ago M203s and the like 40mm launchers were listed as Non-restricted single shot rifles.

There are rubber ball and bean bag ammunition for 40mm. Finding some in Canada is a completely different story.

The launchers tend to sell for $2500+.

Don’t worry buddy, I’ve got a teenager daughter as well. It sucks, but they’re gonna like boys eventually. Don’t get yourself locked up over it. Lol. Just show them your collection of rifles.

For a shotgun you can really put all sorts of stuff in the shells this guy on YouTube cut out less lethal slug from hockey pucks, https://youtu.be/LM_jpmNiOt8 looking at the footage I don’t think I would want to be in front of that lol.
