Travers
Anyone know the snow conditions? the kids want to take their sleds but I told them the hills are usually bare.
Any luck by anyone fishing? |
i was out last friday(before the snow) but i know of 2 groups that went out during the storm(sat and sun). and best report i got was some drifting but not bad at all. the fishing had been good on travers with the best mid day bite i have encountered this hard water season. the fish i caught i really had to use the electronics and earn them. they were reluctant at best and sometimes taking as long as 10 minutes before i would get a bite or he decided he wanted nothing to do with me. 2 rods worked best for me one with a large chubby darter (hot perch) and i would jig it agressivly and soon after i marked a fish i would pull it out and send down the phedobe with a 14'' tag to my jumbo minnow. good luck.

Lots of drifting when I drove by at midnight last night
|
Just got back. Took a drive down there after work and the road is clear. Snow on the roads in the park. Still snow on the ice. Not sure how much snow is on the ice, I just did a circle around the parking lot. Snow is blowing pretty good right now but I doubt it will drift that bad.

Thankyou. Heading down in the am thinking of trying near spillway or the resort, trying out the new eskimo 6man will see how she holds in the wind .
|
the kiddos should be able to find a north facing coulee with some snow
ling coulee is a good place to try for snow covered hills....especially deep into treaters gully |

Travers and names
Nicem....you raise an interesting point , I hear all these names there
used by people who fish there lots but there seems to be some disagreement about where they are , like the pyramids I was told 3 different places for this spot ...Go figure ... I would love to know where ling coulee is ,As I set a new best for Ling at 13+ lbs last year and I would love to break that...yuk:scared0015: Just keep moving , I wonder if the water will start building up cold then warm , with snow ... sounds like the recipe ... |
Thats easy....Ling coulee is right next to wolf coulee:sHa_sarcasticlol:
|
Wolf coulee is on the map, so I definitely know where that is.
|
SORRY!!!!!!!!!!
ling coulee is your first big bay on the south side coming from LBPP looking slightly to your north west is Coal Banks, which is identified by the seams of exposed coal in the cutbanks furthur down(east) from Coal Banks is a long flat point that points directly at the southern shore into Ling Bay which is called Pelican Point Bay of Pigs is the bay where the spillway enters Travers Orange fish bay is the first bay from the Dam on the south shore. The spot in front of the Dam boat launch is called the Surfers Flats everyone knows where the Great wall is, it explains itself on the north shore from the Resort point. The inlet points at Bay of Pigs is called the Dogleg I have listed the ones people can identify easily....the rest is too hard to describe. |

To enable the PM's, click on your name at the top of the screen. That will bring up your profile and hit "User CP" at the top left. That will bring up a bunch of options on the left hand side of the screen. Hit "User Options" and then scroll down and make sure that the checkbox next to "Enable Private Messaging" is checked. |

took some pics of potental spots for the kids i'll post after i load them....these spots are after alot of wind and warm weather so i think you can assume there is always snow in these spots and they are next to good fishing. got 2 pics on my phone of a great spot...pm me your number and i can sent them asap everyone dont get excited...these are tobogganing slopes...not private tips or spots...lol |
I really don't think you have to cover your ass Darter. Just give the info to whoever you want and whoever doesn't get it can figure it out by themselves. I figure if someone wants to share info on here then good for them but the guys who don't shouldn't be hassled for not wanting to.
