AlbertaRelm Currently Unavailable Due to Fire

Please be advised that www.albertarelm.com is currently experiencing technical difficulties and is therefore unavailable at this time. Technicians are working on a solution and hope to have the problem resolved shortly. Further information will be provided as it becomes known.

Rob Miskosky 07-11-2012 03:13 PM

Be advised that there has been a fire in Shaw Court in Calgary where IBM and www.albertarelm.com are housed. Until the extent of the damage is known no timeframe can be given as to when www.albertarelm.com will be back online. Further information will be posted here as it becomes available.

Trackdays 07-11-2012 03:25 PM

Yeah I saw that fire on twitter, not looking good for draw results to be on time. Lets hope it all gets fixed up asap :)

White Wolf 07-11-2012 03:28 PM

I hope they manage to get back online before midnight or else there may be a revolt and chaos in the streets based on a few of the threads on this forum. People are going to want their draw results on time or even early.

sheephunter 07-11-2012 03:29 PM

Maybe this was F&W's way of dealing with the priority caps. Okay, we lost all the data....everyone back to zero.....lol

I'm sure we would all be honest and let them know exactly how much priority we have if it comes down to it. :)

Hey, I was up to 28 on my moose priority.

Honest!

Albertadiver 07-11-2012 03:45 PM

Lots of companies are affected.

http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/ca...507/story.html

311 - city of calgary info line is down

A few companies I work with are down.

Radio stations are down.

So far its a 2 alarm fire.

Chet 07-11-2012 04:00 PM

Our office overlooks it from a block away. There is a pile of fire trucks and they started showing up just after 1:00. No visible smoke or anything like that but definitely not a routine fire drill.

sheephunter 07-11-2012 04:02 PM

Heard there was a small explosion. Also heard that 911 is down too in parts of Calgary. Internet is also down in much of downtown.

winger7mm 07-11-2012 04:07 PM

OH No thats horrible :( geez I was so excited for my draws results. Darnit!!! well I hope no one gets hurt from the fire and hope no one gets hurt from no draw postings lol.

The Fisherman Guy 07-11-2012 04:15 PM

Thanks for the updates fellas.

Grizzly Adams 07-11-2012 04:25 PM

Told me around noon, no results available yet. :D

Grizz

lifesagarden 07-11-2012 04:25 PM

email i got from them (which i find odd if there office is on fire) stated explosion and power failure.

Trackdays 07-11-2012 04:26 PM

The email everyone just got from them states they are unsure if results will be available tomorrow. May be delayed. What bad timing!

pseelk 07-11-2012 04:26 PM

Just got an e-mail from F&W saying due to an explosion and power failure draw results may not be available July 12.

E-mail you got was from F&W in Edmonton. Fire affected IBM in Calgary.

It's not F&W office on fire, rather, it's the building that houses IBM who control the albertarelm website.

Trackdays 07-11-2012 04:42 PM

My guess is that they will be available on time but F&W just wants to put out the what if email that they may not be. The Fire would have been localized to one spot and I imagine that the IBM offices were not affected. They just may not be let back in depending on when the fire is resolved which would result in them being delayed due to no one working in the office.

Lots of Government computer systems , area down , my mother works for Alberta Education and there systems are all down .

My mom says it was the Provincial Mainframe that is effective .

Whipper Billy 07-11-2012 04:48 PM

Being a tech based company I would expect they have a disaster recovery plan for outages.

no not serious, me and a friend were just joking around
but it would be funny in a way, if Alberta Relm came out and said
all data is lost... everyone has to start at zero...
i think it might start a riot...

but could be good for the zones that would take you 200 years to draw a tag

finner-duramax 07-11-2012 05:23 PM
