Reading the thread after posting tells me that yes you do.

Years ago I purchased a Ruger American for myself, and a left handed Savage Axis for the boss. Both new for around $600. They are definitely not top quality rifles, but they both function, and are actually very accurate. I've updated since then. But still have no interest in selling the Ruger. It's a perfect backup, or loaner rifle.
