I went with the Striker and I am very pleased with it. Late fall fishing in the boat the air on the lakes has some serious bite to it. Not with this 👍

100% striker suit. I use mine in the fall as well just take out the liners and it’s good to go. I’m almost due for a new one now after 6 ice season she’s getting pretty beat up. The built in floating capabilities and how warm they were was what originally sold me on it and did not disappoint me one bit!

I know you're not a fan of standing out in the howling wind, so I'd say a Hardwater set is probably perfect for you. I've run Predator and Apex suits and you'll run hot in them unless you fish outside most of the time. I have to take off my Apex jacket setting up in the morning at -20*C, or if I'm on a long ride in with the Ranger. We've also fished outside in -50*C in Predators. These suits are warm. ;)

I have the Strikemaster Surface and my wife had the Strikemaster Allie suit. Both are good. Reinforced, waterproof padded knees are great for kneeling on the ice around the hole. I even wear mine when I’m running the tractor and bucket and clearing snow. I’d say they fit true to size.

I’d suggest trying a few different brands on as pocket configurations are all a bit different. Figure out which one works for you.

Warmer the better for us as now we leave the house with the skidoo, travel time from house to lake is about 30 minutes but to get to our usual haunts on the ice and set up about 1hr.
The striker climate is rated the warmest :sHa_shakeshout:

Not according to Striker. ;)

It's also way lighter than the Climate, which I have tried on but not owned. Just be prepared to pay for the Apex...or wait until Spring and get it for 45% off like I did.

The Striker Hardwater bibs are among the best money I've ever spent in ice fishing. I want a warm, float assist jacket at some point but can't justify the money as of yet. Maybe end of season.

Thx for the input folks, heading to toon town to visit family, will try on some outfits to see what we like.
Gotta look the part out on the ice cuz if you look good you feel good even when you can’t catch!

Don't I know it...

I'll be in Cold Lake March 2-5. Let me know and I can bring the Apex and the Predator suits for you to try out if you like.

So we went to the fishing hole, 25 percent off all striker bibs and jackets,
Two hours later of trying everything on I settled for the striker climate bibs and jacket and the wife got striker climate bibs and the striker prism jacket.
Also had to pick up a few more don’t need but can’t help ourselves!

Thanks to all for the input.
If we ain’t catching now we look the part.

One of the most important feature was float assist in case we do the unthinkable.
I don’t see this feature with the ones you mentioned.

I love my Striker Hardwater bibs and Jacket.

They've never let me down and I've always been warm in them.

I just picked up the Eskimo roughneck suit from cabelas at christmas time and it seems to be a comfortable, warm, and very durable suit.
