Spray Lakes - Ice Fishing Dec. 11/2015
 
Fishing Report:

Date: Dec. 11/2015
Hours Fished: 8am-2pm
Guys Fishing: 3
Ice Thickness: 8"-0" (be careful, the side closest to the road is 8" and the far side is still wide open 0")
Fish Caught: 2 Lake Trout (6" and 7") Lost a few others on the tip-ups.
Lures: 4" White Tube Jig (no bait), 6" Pearl Tube Jig (no bait), 4" Squid Rigged for Jigging (no bait) and 3/8 oz Yellow/Green Jig Heads (1/2 Smelt).
Technique: Drop to bottom, large consistent jigs 5-6 times and then real up.
Where: Spray Lakes, Alberta
Equipment: Depth Finder and Flasher
Depth: We ranged from 30'-90' (most success at 50'-55')
Temperature/Wind: -6, zero wind, 2-3" snow on the ice

Hey has anyone been out on Spray lately? I've never been and was hoping to check it out Monday the 28th. I just want to make sure that there is plenty of ice before making the trek out there.

Check the ice report thread I just asked this question... Sounds like 8-10"

Id still drill lots and walk with caution
