Snares for coyotes

Can anyone out there clarify for me the use of snares for coyotes? Trapping course needed or not? How to effectively use them?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Snares may be used for Coyotes by holders of a Registered Trapline or by holders of a resident trappers license providing they have the permission of the land owner on land they intend to set snares on.

It sounds like a trapping course would be an excellent idea for you.

The effective use of snares is too much to be covered in one forum.
Whole books have been written on the subject and even they don't cover everything one needs to learn to be an efficient and effective snare user.

One needs to know when and where to use snares as well as how to set a snare so it's not detected, so it will actually catch the target animal and not other animals and one has to know how to prevent the target animal from twisting off or breaking the snare.

Each subject heading also requires subheadings to deal with regional differences, time of year considerations, population densities, and other considerations.

In short, it's going to take lot of work.
