WK180C 223 accuracy issues.

Bought one of these a few weeks ago, broke the barrel in properly, tried various ammo and can’t seem to get the groups to tighten up. 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards so pretty poor. Wondering if anyone has had any better luck than me.

I haven’t tried any hand loads yet but Federal Premium 55 ballistic tips are giving me 1-1/4” groups. Also have had 1-1/4” groups with Hornady steel match. I bought a couple thousand rounds of American Eagle 55gr Fmj and they are only good for plinkingas I can’t get any better than 3-4” groups.

This pencil barrel really starts to heat up after 3 rounds and the groups open up. If you still have the stock trigger in yours it’s tough to shoot decent groups with that pos. The stock trigger on mine made the trigger on my sons SKS feel like a 12 ounce Jewel. I put a two stage Geissele SSAE trigger in mine and it’s great.

Where did you get your trigger from?

my first WK I bought a Geissele G2S from Wild West gun shop. The second WK I ordered from Wolverine with the Geissele SSAE installed.

I’ll have to order one, tried hornady 54 grain V-Max today
And got 3/4 to 1” groups but the tigger still took 5 minutes to
Squeeze back. Definetly wondering why they sell it with such a
Pos trigger. Thanks for the info

^I think lawyers set trigger pull weights, especially on semis. :)

Smokinyotes 03-24-2019 04:06 PM

It’s not just the pull weight of the trigger. It feels like it has a wheel barrow full of gravel in it and about a 1/2” creep.

If you've got your ammo* sorted out...

*and wouldn't that be 53 grain Vmax, not 54 ?

I had an AR15 with a Geissele S3G, a RRA National Match 2-stage, and a couple Mil-spec triggers that were stoned/polished to a cleaner break than stock.

I've shot an AR with a Timney, and KAC SR-15 with their 2-stage Match trigger also.

The VELOCITY 3lb SINGLE STAGE STRAIGHT TRIGGER W/ FINGER STOP was by far the best AR trigger I've ever had the pleasure of pulling...

It was on the BCL-102 I had. :sad0125:
